Detailed Account of the Incident
The crash happened on Highway 20 near Madrona Way, where Murray, driving a 2021 Ford F-150, lost control while speeding over 100 mph. The vehicle’s failure to navigate a curve led to a catastrophic sequence of events: veering off the road, colliding with a power pole, slicing through brush, and ultimately rolling uphill into a field, coming to rest 420 feet from the initial point of departure.
Daniel Sander, a 23-year-old respected Navy member, devoted husband, and father, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite being buckled up and the vehicle’s airbags deploying.
