A Winter Sports Accident That Calls for Attention

In the serene but unpredictable setting of Roslyn, a snowmobile accident disrupted a peaceful Sunday morning, leading to injuries for a couple enjoying their outdoor adventure. This unfortunate event occurred around 11:50 a.m. in the Cooper Lake area, a spot beloved by winter sports fans. The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, alerted by distress signals from a GPS device, coordinated a swift response with Kittitas County Search & Rescue and Fire Districts No. 6 and 7.

Upon arrival, the rescue team found a snowmobile that had tragically gone off track, tumbling over an embankment and striking a group of trees. The incident involved a 52-year-old driver from Auburn, who sustained minor injuries, and his wife, who suffered more critical conditions, requiring emergency airlift services to Confluence Health Hospital in Wenatchee.
