Moses Lake, WA – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 near Moses Lake on Wednesday afternoon killed one person and injured eight others. The crash, which occurred at milepost 188, about 9 miles east of Moses Lake, closed the freeway in both directions for several hours.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash involved three vehicles: a pickup truck, a minivan, and a car. The pickup truck was traveling eastbound when it crossed the median and struck the minivan head-on. The minivan then spun out of control and struck the car.
The driver of the pickup truck was killed in the crash. The driver and two passengers of the minivan were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver and passenger of the car were also taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but troopers believe that the driver of the pickup truck may have been speeding.
The crash closed I-90 in both directions for several hours, causing major traffic delays. The freeway was reopened around 6:30 p.m.
